PRESIDENT'S FEBRUARY LETTER

Dear OCAPL Members,

I hope you had a productive and enjoyable NAPE Expo. It was great connecting with many of you and discussing future opportunities. For those I missed, I look forward to reconnecting soon at our upcoming OCAPL events.

February brought encouraging developments across the domestic energy landscape. The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook that U.S. crude oil production remains near record levels, while natural gas production is projected to reach new highs in 2026. These forecasts reinforce America’s position as a global energy leader and highlight the resilience, innovation, and operational efficiency of companies across our producing basins.

With this sustained level of activity and opportunity comes continued responsibility, and plenty of work ahead for land professionals. From running title and leasing to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, as well as relationship management, our expertise remains foundational to successful development. As markets evolve and policy discussions continue, the professionalism, integrity, and technical skill of land professionals are more important than ever.

I encourage you to engage with OCAPL in the weeks ahead. Please sign up to attend our community service opportunity on Friday, March 6th at 8:00 a.m. at the Regional Food Bank, as we give back to the community where we live and work. We will also gather for a social event on Thursday, April 9th, an educational luncheon on Monday, April 13th, and our 2nd Annual Pickleball & Social on Thursday, April 23rd. These events provide valuable opportunities to strengthen professional relationships, welcome new members, and foster the connections that make our organization so impactful.

As always, OCAPL is committed to equipping our members with meaningful education and networking opportunities tailored specifically to land professionals. Our organization is only made possible through the strength of our membership and our generous sponsors. I would like to give a special thank you to our new Alliance Program participants. Our Strategic Level includes Devon Energy, Diamondback Energy, and Pinson Land, and our Advocate Level includes Expand Energy, Charney Brown LLC, Marauder Land Resources, and Western Land Services.

I am excited about what lies ahead this year and I look forward to seeing you soon!

Warm regards,

Dianna Ray

OCAPL President
